Mana Mama, Healthy Babies, Strong Families
Empowering Native Hawaiian Families Through Culturally Rooted Care
About the Program
Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition of Hawaiʻi (HMHB) is proud to announce the launch of Mana Mama, Healthy Babies, Strong Families—a new initiative made possible through a generous support from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA). This program is part of OHA’s Community Grant – Ola Ke Kanaka – Physical, Spiritual, Mental & Emotional Health, focused on enhancing holistic wellness for Native Hawaiian families.
What We Offer
Under this initiative, HMHB provides:
Culturally grounded prenatal and postpartum care
Routine checkups, ultrasounds, and vaccinations
Nutrition and birth planning education
Postpartum recovery and newborn wellness support
Peer-led support groups through our Piko Pals circles
Connections to ‘ohana (family), moʻomeheu (culture), and ʻāina (land and water)
We honor ʻōlelo noʻeau like “I paʻa ke kino o ke keiki i ka lāʻau” — “the body of the child is made strong by medicine” — by providing the care and compassion that build strong generations
Partnered with OHA
